She stood in the middle of the room, gazing into nothingness. That nothingness unfolded in front of her, beckoning with alluring space. From the outside, she stared into nothingness, but in reality, she was looking into herself.
“It’s okay, it’s even becoming interesting,” she said aloud and headed towards the table. The table instantly transformed into the control panel of a spaceship. Sitting behind it, she physically felt that she was lifted and carried somewhere. Somewhere beyond the dimensions comprehensible to the mind.
“This is the moment. It’s here. It’s inexplicable, incommunicable, absolutely indescribable,” whispered the voices within. “Could this be it? – the mind persisted, – it’s kind of hackneyed, too down to earth.
In this intense self-contemplation, she was holding on to the moment, solely to the truth of the moment. And to the right to know where it would lead her this time. There had been so many leaps off the Niagara Falls of new experiences that this time there was no longer any anxiety. Only a resounding voice within: “Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump! Come onCome onCome onCome on!” It was as if there was a hollow space within her, echoing the voices of life around.
What was she afraid of? It was already becoming clear: she feared being left without support due to disapproval. She feared making an unreasonable choice. And these were not her thoughts because as long as they were flowing, or rather following the trampled rails laid down by someone else long ago, she felt that these thoughts were not hers – they were transitory.
She feared the unknown, which she could feel breathing at her face. Everything had already been predetermined. And essentially, there was nothing to decide. Everything was already happening itself.
Again, however, there was also a completely new sensation. She had never approached the abyss with such proximity and wide-open eyes. “They are right to say” – flashed through her mind – “that one day it will come: you will realize that this is the end. And it will be the beginning.” It was very strange to vividly see that this was the end, and not to see it, but to KNOW that it was the beginning.”
Do not fear feeling fear and do not fear looking into the eyes of the unknown.
